Oprah Winfrey, Gayle King Head To ATL For O You!
"The Oprah Winfrey Show" may be off the air, but Gayle King says O Magazine is still "live and in color."In its 11th year, O contributors will head to Atlanta, Georgia, for the magazine's sixth annual conference dedicated to "living your best life."O You! will draw about 5,000 people to the Georgia World Congress Center on October 15 - as well as experts like Suze Orman and Dr. Oz, plus Oprah Winfrey herself.
King, the magazine's editor-at-large, told CNN she's glad Winfrey is able to make it this year. In the past, she said, the talk show host's schedule dictated whether or not she was able to attend.People haven't spent the afternoons with her since "The Oprah Winfrey Show" ended its 25-year run in May, King said, so it will be nice for them to get to see her again. "I do feel like the afternoon TV is just not the same," she added. In June, at the National Cable and Telecommunications Association's annual Cable Show, Winfrey said that despite her show's end, she still has one dream interview: A confession from O.J. Simpson.Note: "She doesn't want to sit there with O.J. if he's going to say, 'No I didn't do it,' " King said.Speaking of interviews, King is doing quite a few these days on "The Gayle King Show" - her Sirius radio show/TV show on OWN.
This week she's chatted with "The Real Housewives of New Jersey" star Caroline Manzo, NBC's Brian Williams and "Real Steel" actor Anthony Mackie.
