Oprah Winfrey to get a section in the Huffington Post

Talk show legend Oprah Winfrey will soon have her own section in The Huffington Post.

The purpose of the collaboration is to bring fans of Winfrey to Huffingtonpost.com, while giving some of the sites readers motivation to go to her OWN network, which has struggled with ratings.

Winfreys section of the site will debut in August.

"We are thrilled to partner with Oprah Winfrey and OWN," said Huffington Post Media Group president/editor-in-chief Arianna Huffington. "Oprah was about engagement and authenticity long before engagement and authenticity ruled the web. And since those qualities are deeply embedded in the DNA of both OWN and HuffPost, Im delighted that well be working together to enlarge the conversation on living our best lives, as Oprah puts it, just as we launch our GPS for the Soul app.

Winfreys section will contain articles, blogs and interactive content. It will also provide advice on how people can attain their goals and lead happy lives.

The OWN network fired 30 staff members and cancelled Rosie ODonnells talk show earlier this year when it failed to generate strong ratings. An average of 180,000 viewers tune into the network daily as of March.

The Post website attracts nearly 37 million people.
