Former Oprah agent sells penthouse for $3.67M

Attorney Jeffrey Jacobs, who for 18 years was Oprah Winfrey's agent, manager and adviser, on Monday sold his 13-room, duplex penthouse co-op apartment in east Lincoln Park for $3.675 million.

Noted architect David Adler designed the 5,600-square-foot co-op unit, which Jacobs purchased in 1999. In early 2010, Jacobs listed the co-op for $5.75 million. He later reduced his asking price to $4.95 million and finally to $4.275 million.

Jacobs sold the house because he and his wife have moved to Santa Barbara, Calif.

Features include a curved grand staircase, original pine paneling, three new floor-to-ceiling French windows, four full baths, two half baths, four fireplaces, a nursery/office, a new kitchen, a breakfast room, hardwood floors, cathedral ceilings and a fully equipped private gym.

"It's the best building in Chicago," Jacobs told Elite Street via e-mail on Monday.

The buyer's identity is not yet available in public records.
