In Winfrey's much-hyped interview with Kim and the rest of the Kardashian clan which will air in two parts (June 17 and June 24 at 8 p.m. ET) on OWN the talk show host says Kim seems to have matured since her 72-day marriage to Kris Humphries.
"You're growing up," observes Winfrey. Says Kardashian, 31, "I'm totally growing up."
Kardashian says she has changed her outlook on life and even who she surrounds herself with. "A lot of my friends, the people that I love to just sit and talk to and spend my time with, are wiser, a little bit older than me," says Kardashian. "Before I used to, you know, all my boyfriends were younger. I always dated five years younger. My whole thing was completely different."
Kardashian, who is dating musician Kanye West, 34, tells Winfrey that being around people with more life experience has made all the difference.
"I love that I'm with someone who is a couple years older than me," she says of West. "I love that my friends are even sometimes 20, 30 years older than me."
She compares her process of maturing as being like when her sister Kourtney Kardashian gave birth to son Mason.
"Kourtney had this epiphany when she had the baby and she! changed into a different person," says Kardashian. "I feel like I've had an epiphany over the last year for what I've been through, and I am that changed person just from my own experiences."
