Oprah Winfrey's Bodyguards Get Into Scuffle With Indian Journalists

(RTTNews.com) - Oprah Winfrey's bodyguards roughed up Indian journalists during the talk show host's recent visit to India.

Winfrey was filming a documentary on widows and the widow ashram of Ma Dham at the holy city of Vrindavan (about 90 miles from Delhi), where Winfrey and her television crew entered the ashram. As journalists tried to follow her into the building, they were held back by Winfrey's security team, with some of them being jostled and their cameras broken.

Said a journalist to the Hindustan Times: "Media men and those from TV channels with cameras were manhandled by those in charge of security of Oprah Winfrey and police had to intervene."

The bodyguards were arrested and later released when police established that no injuries arose from the scuffle.

Winfrey is shooting scenes for her! show "N ext Chapter," which will feature segments on the Taj Mahal and the Jaipur Literature Festival, where she will interview new age writer Deepak Chopra.
