AMERICAN megastar Oprah Winfrey could be on her way back to Melbourne.

Confidential understands Winfrey is in talks to be the big-name guest speaker at the Education For Life conference that will take place in Melbourne from November 29 to December 2 at a yet-to-be-determined venue.

The last time Winfrey was in Melbourne was back in December 2010, when she filmed segments of her show at Federation Square.

Jamie McIntyre, the man who is bringing Arnold Schwarzenegger to Australia in June for the 21st Century Financial Education Summit, is also behind the conference that is wooing Winfrey.

If she does make it, Winfrey, unfortunately, will not be in Melbourne early enough for the Spring Racing Carnival.

Talking of big-name US talk show guests, the Ellen DeGeneres segments from Australia aired last week on Channel 9 and they looked fantastic.

Melbourne schoolgirl Georgia Perry, whom DeGeneres discovered while visiting Melbourne Girls Grammar on her recent trip, will fly to Los Angeles later th! is month to perform on the show.

Perry sang for DeGeneres in a class at the school and the US superstar was so impressed she invited her to sing on stage during the filming of her Melbourne show.

She then surprised her on the day by offering a trip to LA.

Meanwhile, DeGeneres and her Aussie wife, Portia de Rossi, made headlines after coming out and saying they don't want children.

"You have to really want to have kids, and neither of us did," de Rossi told the US magazine Out last week.
