Toni Braxton Slams Oprah Winfrey, Reveals Surprising Meaning Behind Grammy-Winning Song

They call her the Queen of Talk, not the Queen of Nice!

"Oprah's Next Chapter" host and OWN head honcho Oprah Winfrey has been slammed by singer Toni Braxton in a taped segment for VH1's "Behind the Music."

According to the Toronto Sun, Braxton said of her 1998 interview with the talk show icon: "She was so frickin' mean to me, I was in shock. I couldn't believe it because I loved her so much She pretty much reprimanded me."

Braxton said Oprah shamed her for her spending habits ahead of her infamous bankruptcy filing. Oprah reportedly said to Braxton, "'I hear you have Gucci flatware; I'm Oprah Winfrey and I don't have Gucci flatware.'" The singer added, "Immediately she made me feel this big."

In a clip from the VH1 interview, Braxton said she even lost her Grammy Award statuette and other awards as a result of her financial woes (they were seized and auctioned off), but even more surprising was her confession regarding the real meaning behind her 1996 Grammy-winning song, "You're Making me High." According t! o SF Gate, Braxton said the song is about smoking marijuana.

"A week before (writing the song ), I was introduced to marijuana, and I got high for the first time and so I added that in the song," she said. "In the bridge, I'm singing, 'I want to feel your heart and soul inside of me/Let's make a deal you roll, I lick/And we can go flying into ecstasy'. I was talking about (rolling and smoking a joint)."

Wow, and to think we thought the song was about the emotional high of a new love!

Meanwhile, Toni Braxton's Oprah revelation isn't the first time the host with the most has been labeled not-so-nice. Oprah herself even admitted she was rude to one guest.

In 2006, when she discovered that her non-fiction Oprah's Book Club selection, James Frey's "A Million Little Pieces," contained some major embellishments, she chewed the author out during a follow-up show.

While producers reportedly told Frey the show would be a discussion about "the flexible definition of the truth," he later said he wasn't prepared to be confronted and ultimately steamrolled by an angry Oprah. (Soon after he even relocated his family to France to get away from the backlash.) Five years later, during Oprah's final season, she invited Frey back on her show and apologized for being so hard on him. This, after a lot of self-reflection on how she forgot to treat the author like a human being.

We wonder if Oprah will have a change of heart regarding how she treated Toni!
