Oprah Winfrey pays surprise visit to Boston College
Daytime diva Oprah Winfrey made a surprise appearance Thursday at Boston College, where she met with seven young women from South Africa members of the first graduating class of the Oprah Winfrey Leadership Academy for Girls. The girls are currently studying at BC as part of a summer enrichment experience. (BC is the only US college or university that offers such a program for OWLAG grads.) Oprah created the academy in 2007 to provide a supportive educational environment for disadvantaged South African girls in grades 8 through 12.
