"Oprah's Next Chapter" host and OWN head honcho Oprah Winfrey has been slammed by singer Toni Braxton in a taped segment for VH1's "Behind the Music." According to the Toronto Sun , Braxton said of her 1998 interview with the talk show icon: "She was so frickin' mean to me, I was in shock. I couldn't believe it because I loved her so much She pretty much reprimanded me." Braxton said Oprah shamed her for her spending habits ahead of her infamous bankruptcy filing. Oprah reportedly said to Braxton, "'I hear you have Gucci flatware; I'm Oprah Winfrey and I don't have Gucci flatware.'" The singer added, "Immediately she made me feel this big." The untitled project centers on a wealthy academic who has become the first black president of a prestigious liberal arts college. He and his family are thrust into national headlines, forcing them to present an idyllic public faade, all while engaging in agonizing personal battles and struggling with dark obsessions. PHOTOS: Oprah Through the Years Playwright Thomas Bradshaw is on board to write and co-executive produce the hourlong effort, with Winfrey and Harpo's Kate Forte attached as executive producers.
