DMX wants Oprah to drop video

Embattled rapper DMX has threatened legal action against Oprah Winfrey's US TV network unless bosses remove online clips of a recent interview in which he breaks down over his lifelong struggle with drugs. The Party Up (Up in Here) hitmaker, real name Earl Simmons, sat down for a discussion with spiritual coach Iyanla Vanzant for an emotional episode of Iyanla: Fix My Life, and revealed all about his addiction issues, claiming he will "always have a drug problem, until I die". He also confessed that the paranoia caused by his heavy drug use almost drove him to commit suicide on multiple occasions, saying: "I thought about blowing my head off a few times. The only thing that stopped me was... I have children." The show aired on the Oprah Winfrey Network (OWN) in the US last weekend, but DMX - who has fathered 10 children with multiple partners - claims the candid chat was only supposed to be about his addiction to women and that questions about his substance abus

"The night before that broke in the news, Jesus had made his first appearance on the screen and I was so looking forward to Monday and knowing that Jesus would be on the lips of everyone," Downey, known for her 10-year role on the TV series "Touched By An Angel", told Oprah. "For Satan to be the point of conversation was really heartbreaking," she added. Her husband, however, was uncomplaining. "If you're gonna do what we do for a living, which is stick your neck out there it's a free country and you got to accept that," said Burnett, who is the creator of reality TV shows such as "Celebrity Apprentice", "Shark Tank", "Survivor"

The troubled teen is said to be weighing up the possibility of an exclusive interview with Oprah in a bid to temper the increasingly negative headlines that have surrounded him since he kicked off his Believe World Tour last September. The ensuing months have seen Justin jeered by angry fans at London's O2 after he turned up almost two-hours late for his own show, with further late appearances and ugly spats with photographers outside his hotel adding weight to the argument that he is going off the rails. An anti-circumcision human rights group is picketing media mogul Oprah Winfrey as she tours through Canada because she has endorsed an anti-aging cream made of cells extracted from foreskins. The Canadian Foreskin Awareness Project is the self-proclaimed feistiest pro-foreskin advocacy group which works to educate and raise awareness for a male infants right to keep his genitals intact. Winfrey has been on a three-stop tour of Canada giving motivational talks to sold-out audiences about her rise to fame, her famous inspirational idols and her Christian faith. As harmless as the tour may seem, the Toronto Star reported that the CFAP has picketed at Winfreys first two stops, Ottawa and Montreal. The rights group is angry that Winfrey has endorsed SkinMedicas TNS Recovery Complex an anti-aging cream made from the fibroblast cells of male foreskins. The founder of the product, Dr. Richard Fitzpatrick, explained that the cells were taken from a single foreskin that was removed over twen

Oprah gives her shoes away to thrilled Ottawa fan

Image
Dave Kotinsky/Getty Images, Sandy Sharkey/Twitter Oprah Winfrey is famous for giving her fans free things, but she doesn't normally give away her own things. On Wednesday, however, during the Ottawa stop of An Evening With Oprah Winfrey , the 59-year-old media mogul kicked off her shoes and gifted them to one of the 15,000 people who had crowded into Scotiabank Place for her talk. See also: Why are foreskin activists protesting Oprah in Ottawa? Who wears a size 10? Winfrey reportedly asked after admitting that her feet were hurting in her stiletto heels. While several members of the crowd offered up their own shoes, she refused to take them but she did give the purple Manolo Blahniks to ex-radio-host Sandy Sharkey. I just happened to be a 10, the Ottawa resident later told the Ottawa Citizen . Sharkey was still stunned this morning when she tweeted a photo of herself holding the shoes in question and the message "still can't believe @Oprah gave me her @ManoloBlahnik sho

Oprah in Ottawa: Its a perfect fit (with videos)

OTTAWA Oh, how they loved her. Close to 15,000 fans came to Scotiabank Place to see and hear Oprah, that media empire in heels. They loved her, and she loved them back. READ WHAT OUR REPORTERS TWEETED AS THEY TOOK IN THE EVENING WITH OPRAH BY CLICKING HERE. From the opening moment through to the end of the show, Oprah made the word Ottawa into a song, long holding the note on the final syllable each time. In exchange, the crowd was willing to do anything for her, like offering her their own shoes. At the end of the formal speech and just as she sat down for a question and answer period with CBC personality George Stroumboulopoulos, she told the crowd her feet were killing her because of her stiletto-heeled shoes. Who wears a size 10? she asked, and got many screaming answers of Me! No, Im not going to do it, she said. She wouldnt take anyones shoes, but she still gave hers away. The lucky winner was former Ottawa radio host Sandy Sharkey, who was the crowd and approached the stage whe

Pro-foreskin protesters to target Oprah at Hamilton appearance

A Vancouver activist is organizing protests against Oprah Winfrey, who is set to make three appearances in Ottawa, Montreal and Hamilton this week. The issue: the celebritys endorsement of an anti-aging cream called TNS Recovery Complex made by SkinMedica , which contains skin cells called fibroblast that are derived from male foreskin. Winfrey endorsed the product on her talk show, which ended in 2011. How would Oprah respond if a skin cream for men hit the market that was made using cells from the genitalia of little girls? I think she would be absolutely disgusted and appalled, and rightly so. So its crazy that shes doing the opposite, said Glen Callender of the pro-foreskin advocacy group the Canadian Foreskin Awareness Project . We think its extremely hypocritical and distasteful that Oprah Winfrey who is herself a survivor of childhood sexual abuse and an outspoken opponent of female genital mutilation at the same time uses and promotes a product that wouldnt exist if not for t

Tyler Perry and Oprah Winfrey create 'When Sofia met Madea' video to promote OWN partnership

If there was any doubt Oprah Winfrey and Tyler Perry were painting a big bullseye on the African American female demographic with their partnership on Winfrey's OWN cable channel, that was erased by the new promotional video featuring two of their most enduring characters. In a cheeky scene, Winfrey plays Miss Sophia, her legendary character from The Color Purple film, and Perry recreates his classic Madea characters from his gospel plays and films. Both characters are incredibly popular with black audiences, especially African American women; bringing them together is something like the Super Bowl of middle-aged black pop culture.
