Digital media company leasing Harpo Production space

Harpo Studios is leasing its production offices, Oprah Winfrey Network executives said on Monday.

The Chicago studio, which most recently housed production of The Rosie Show before it was cancelled in 2011, is leasing the space at 122 N. Aberdeen St. to an unnamed local digital media company, OWN executives said.

The space makes up about 10 percent of the Harpo Production complex. The rest is still used to develop special projects by OWN, which produces shows such as Super Soul Sunday and Our America With Lisa Ling. Since the cancellation of ODonnells show in March, the production space has been mostly vacant.

After The Oprah Winfrey Show wrapped, Winfrey put two of her Chicago properties on the market and moved to New York.

In her latest endeavor, Oprah confirmed in late June that she would appear on an upcoming episode of Keeping Up With the Kardashians.
